Beautiful Liard Hot Springs is located at Mile 477 and is enjoyed by both people, and in the winter when people are not present, animals.
We see a moose in the distance, but a big bull with heavy antlers keeps his head down most of the time, and he was busy standing in the warm water happily chewing on the plants near the river bottom.
We love our campsite and only wish we could stay here for a week. Our group, however, is heading to Watson Lake and we have a schedule to keep.
Here are some views of the boardwalk leading to the hot springs, and the Alpha Pool. Yes, there is a Beta Pool, but the sign says it is permanently closed.
Bob really enjoys the hot springs (way too hot for me) as does fellow traveler John Heilman.
Here are a couple pictures of the wildflowers in this area. None of the wild orchids and other exotics are in bloom yet. I think it is still too early in the season, and we just had a snow storm.
Tomorrow we leave for Watson Lake.

the first plant you posted is cow parsnip and the second is nootka rose.
there are fewer people that stop in the winter, but many people still do. it is a real treat to be in the hot springs during the winter- highly recommended if you can brave the roads. glad you got to see a nice little corner of canada! liard is very special.
I love your campsite also! I wish to make that trip with a smaller group and take time to stay longer in the wonderful spots if you want. That will be a trip of a lifetime for me and I want to go slow.
