This old engine sits outside the entrance to this Fairbanks museum. Bob and I are astounded at what we see. Many of these cars never went into production, and are one of a kind. All have been lovingly restored, are in drivable condition, and are works of art. Many of the manufactures are long out of existence. After photographing the Hay (the above car), I realized this was going to be hard work. So, I turned the camera over to Bob for the rest of the cars. I did take a couple of shots of the wall pictures, which show the cars being used, which is great to see. Also, after the cars, I'm including a slide show of the fabulous costumes which accompanied almost every display. Enjoy!

I love this picture of the Willow chairs with the old stove. There are many Willow trees in this part of the world, and your favorite moose will thank you. They gorge on them during the summer months.

All of these cars are works of art, and I cannot imagine keeping them clean - especially here in Fairbanks. I haven't seen a clean car since arriving in Alaska. But, take a look at the grills on these next few cars. Can you picture yourself washing off the mud, snow, and gunk on the road and then polishing them? I think not!

Have you noticed the equally breathtaking gowns shown with the cars? I asked the docent if pictures were available on their website, but sadly they aren't. So, I tried my best to get some shots of them. Many were encased in glass and impossible to reach. Others have much glare, but I included them anyway until such time as they become available on their website.
