The Narrows Too Campground is actually located in Trenton, about 1 mile from the bridge leading to Bar Harbor. Since we got in last night, this is our first chance to visit Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor, and get our first glimpse of Acadia National Park.
With lunch on our minds, we decide to make Bar Harbor our first stop, and take a brief walk around town.
As you may imagine, parking is at a premium, but our little car manages to score a parking space, and we are free to walk around, have lunch, ogle at the cruise ship, and dream of ports of call yet unseen.
Anxious for our first peek of Acadia National Park, we zip into the closest entrance at the Visitor Center, climb the long stairway, and take advantage of the views.
Driving around, we come to Jordan Pond, talk with a couple of visitors, enjoy hot tea and a popover (an Acadia Park tradition) and take a short walk along the hiking trail.
All to soon, our daylight is fading, so we head out. These last pictures are at Otter Point, a fitting end to our day.
