This, our group photo, shows us all geared up and ready for our adventure just prior to entering the van for our trip up the mountain.
I wondered why we needed to gear up prior to arriving on the mountain, but as soon as we transferred from the van to an old ex-military 6 wheel drive vehicle which takes us straight up the mountain, I know why. It is indeed very bumpy as this blurry picture will attest!
The last photo above shows two of the four instructors telling us what and what not to do while zip lining.
The first thing we have to do is walk up this bridge like structure, which will take us up to the top of the trees. This is a dual zip line, so the heavy partner goes on the left side, just a tad longer, and the lighter of the two using the right side. Then it's just a matter of pushing off and enjoying the ride!

Now it's time to tell a secret about myself. When approaching a down escalator, I always pause. I can't tell you why, it's just a reaction to those darn steps moving and me wondering if my feet are going to land where they belong. So, I was certain after all this anticipation and knowing how much fun it would be, I would get out on the platform and freeze up.
NO WAY! I just sailed off those platforms like I was born to zip line. No problem here teaching an old dog a new trick. After the first line, I'm ready to change professions. Let's see. How does one go about becoming a professional zip-liner???
Here I am coming in on line #2, at about 1,800 feet, the longest of the tour. I snap this picture of Bob getting ready to take off on the next line.
The final line is a pendulum line, meaning you don't arrive at another platform, but swing back and forth until someone comes with a ladder. You climb up, unhook, then climb back down. Fun!
As you can see, I'm all smiles and feel great! That last line was more than intimidating to some people. I think they call it the "white knuckle" line. Even Bob admitted to not liking the height and the sway of the trees. I never noticed! Guess I was having waaay too much fun.
The slide show below shows the covered bridge we found on the way home, and the Newfound RV Park, our home for this week. They are having a Country Coach Rally, all nice people (we were the SOB's for "some other brand") and were having such a great time. They came with so many dogs I asked some of them if it was really a motor coach rally or a pet rally.
