I'm borrowing these pictures from our 2007 album when we last visited this area.
We left Port Clinton a little after 7:00 AM Monday morning and drove all day to arrive at the RV Park here after 5:00 - it was a very long day, especially when you consider we only stopped for fuel.
Tuesday we made a trip into Syracuse for Kitty food and a stop for filters at Camping World. Here we met a really nice couple, Bruce & Cheryl Silvers who were shopping for the same BBQ we were, & with Bruce's wit, managed to score an additional discount because we bought two. Bob didn't know I wanted a new BBQ, but I found the perfect Weber for Popeye. Bruce & Cheryl live in Skaneateles, a beautiful & charming town at the north end of Skaneateles Lake (say "skinny-atlas" & you'll be real close.) Sorry we aren't staying longer to get better acquainted.
This is the only picture we took of the RV park, which doesn't do it justice. Today, after finding a break in one of our water hoses, which Bob was able to fix, and after lunch at the casino, we took a drive into Rome. I had wanted to see the Erie Canal Museum Village, but with too much rain and not enough time, we drove through the town and returned to Popeye. At least I'm as caught up as I can get, and tomorrow we drive to South Hero VT, going through the Adirondack Mountains.
