What to do on a hot 4th of July afternoon? Visit downtown McMinnville!
We start on the north side of the RR tracks with lunch at the Golden Valley Brewery. The food is good and the prices reasonable. Most of the small restaurants will be closed for the holiday. Fortunately for us, the Brewery is open.
After lunch, we take a walk, & I try to take some representative pictures of the town.
And look who we ran into! Don't recall seeing Ben on our last visit.
One of our favorite stops is the Cornerstone Underground Coffee Company. It is on the corner, never asked about the "underground" part, but they do roast their own beans and serve a variety of pastries as well.
Afterward, we walk back towards our car, and I find this shop, which looks promising for finding ski goggles that Bob needs to protect his eyes. Look at what we find!
Later when we return to Popeye, I insist Bob wear the result of our visit:
A few more shots of downtown:
Finally, we tour Linfield College, a well regarded liberal arts college right at the edge of downtown McMinnville.
And finally, a little sculpture we find on the campus.
