If you haven't heard of
Bemidji, certainly you've heard of the fable surrounding Paul
Bunyon and his blue ox Babe. Well, for you non-believers, here's a picture. That's how famous they really are!
The statues are located right on the lake in downtown
Bemidji,
appropriately located at the Visitor's Center. Although it is closed this Sunday, we take a few pictures of the park & town.
There are several interesting features at this park, none of which, regrettably I have any information on. None-the-less, it's fun to walk around and see the sights.
Driving around, we come to the
Beltrami County Square, where I find this very interesting work of art by Sherry Olsen, titled "All About Time."
The balance of the pictures are other features located in the square, with Bob being the newest!
Now it's on to the highlight of our day - the Headwaters of the Mississippi River.
